What is Magic Library? Magic Library is a groundbreaking digital platform that empowers young readers to become the star of their own on-demand personalized stories. It is a kid-friendly, open-ended creative universe where children can step into customized adventures, puzzles, and games alongside beloved characters.
How does my child become the star of the story? Parents start by safely creating an account and setting up a profile. You take a quick selfie of your child and choose an avatar. From there, your child uses simple visual and audio prompts to select a genre (like adventure or mystery) and a specific subject. The app then generates a completely original, personalized story featuring your child's face and name.
What stories and characters are available? At launch, the app features curated, family-friendly versions of classic public domain titles such as Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes, and Frankenstein. Coming soon is our Premium Channel, which will feature officially licensed adventures with Pete the Cat, Arthur, and the Berenstain Bears. We will be announcing even more premium titles soon!
Is the app safe for my child to use? Absolutely. Magic Library is KidSafe Certified and COPPA compliant, featuring robust parental controls. To prevent stories from going off the rails, we use a closed-loop system; kids cannot freely type prompts, but rather choose from curated, pre-approved icons. Furthermore, our stories and images go through a pipeline of human-in-the-loop verification to ensure content is always safe, brand-appropriate, and free of inappropriate material before it ever reaches your child.
What age group is Magic Library designed for? The app is generally designed for children ages 4.5 to 10 years old. The appeal and reading level can vary slightly depending on the specific story genre you choose.
Are there activities besides reading? Yes! While a new story is generating (which takes about 40 to 90 seconds), kids can play educational mini-games like Tic-Tac-Toe, Memory, and puzzles. These games also feature your child's avatar and the characters from the world they selected. The app itself acts as an enchanted, interactive room where children can unlock virtual items, change colors with a magic paint station, and collect fun animated companions called Sprites by completing reading activities.
How does the subscription work? We offer monthly and yearly subscription plans. Your subscription grants unlimited access to read the stories you've already generated and play games. To encourage healthy digital habits and reading comprehension, the creation of new stories is managed by tokens. Kids can earn more tokens to create new stories by rereading the stories they already have in their library.
Can this app help my child learn to read? Yes. You can turn off the audio narrator so your child can practice reading the text at their own pace. Coming soon is "Jam," a lovable reading coach. When in reader mode, the app will listen to your child read, highlighting words in green as they succeed and turning red to offer real-time help when they get stuck.
Can I buy physical copies of my child's stories? Soon! Parents will have the option to order custom, bespoke merchandise. You can purchase physical books, t-shirts, lunch pails, and other items that feature your child starring right alongside their favorite characters.
